Wanna go book-shopping but you don’t read Dutch? Go to one of the English or American bookstores in Amsterdam. Whether you need a Loney Planet (you don’t ‘couse you have this site on your mobile …) or finished your novel a bit sooner then expected, you have no problem finding it on the following locations.
- The American Book center – The name says it all. It’s big, and commercial but also central and a happy chaos.
- The English Bookshop – a small independent bookshop situated in the heart of the lively Jordaan area of Amsterdam.
- Waterstone’s English bookshop Amsterdam – Almost next to the American book center and less beautiful but more fun in my opinion. A bit less commercial collection.
- Himalaya Bookstore & Tea-House – For all you hippies out there! Huge collection of spiritual books.
- Architectura & Natura bookshop – Sixty year old bookshop specializing in architecture, landscape architecture and natural history. It supposed to be one of the best best in Europe. And if that’s not enough, the are on one of the sexiest canals of Amsterdam
