Childfriendly restaurants. They can be extremly hard to fiend. Esspeccially when you’re in a city you’ve never been before. So here’s a list of places where you can enjoy a delicious meal while you’re kids have lots of fun with other kids, playgrounds and mini-pizza’s.
- Restaurant Amsteram – Situated in the old engineroom (it’s huge!) of the Amsterdam water pumping company is now a wonderful restaurant. The menu (also in English) is France bistro-style for a very good price. The place is big and spatially and there is more then enough room for children. The menu has also several children’s dishes and they do kids seats etc. I love the place since it’s good food and a funny mixture of family parties, business dinners, people from the neighborhood having drinks and couples eating lobster. The lights are the stadium lights from the old Ajax stadium.
- Pacific Park – Almost acrose the street of Restaurant Amsterdam is Pacific park. it’s also in an old factory, the Amsterdam gas company this time. The place is huge and has a very bohemian feel to it. The service has the same bohemian style. waitresses with tanktops and unshaved armpits serve stuff you’ve never ordered.
But don’t get me wrong, it’s great for lasy sundays after a stroll true the lively westerpark that the restaurant is in. - Kinderkookkafé – Not a real restaurant but the most child focused place of the list. It translates as “Child Cooking Dinner”. small tables and you’re kids can work the bar or cook a meal for you if they like. Build your own pizza, make sausage animals, stuff like that. Next to the Amsterdams “central park”, the Vondelpark.
- Pastorale – Italian style foor with o.a. a ballpool in the basement.
- Moeders Mooiste – Next to the Heineken Brewery is restaurant Moeders Mooiste. Descent pub food with lots of colouring pictures and room for children.
